Adding to your performance with on stage lighting…..

I came across a great quote recently:

A room is like a stage. If you see it without lighting, it can be the coldest place in the world.
~ Paul Lynde

I found this to be fitting in life as well. Light can throw off warmth, but also add visual connection in a special way. Without it, there’s really nothing to see, focus on, or feel with ones eyes. There’s nothing much to relate to, and therefore, the experience is not memorable, and soon forgotten.

According to Biblical scriptures, it was the first thing God created, even before earth and man. It was as if He had to turn on the light bulb in order to see the rest of His creations, and enjoy the satisfaction of what was before Him.

Light is the first thing we all experience  when we awake in the morning, and fills our life with color. In the lighting world, light is all colors combined. Without color we have total darkness. There are 3 primary colors in the lighting world; Red, Blue, Green, also referred to as RBG. When you take all 3 colors and shine them on an object at the same time, you will get a bright white. Strange when you relate it to color on paper or canvas, as you would have gotten the opposite.

Illuminate your crowd from the stage

Much like primary colors, there are primary senses as well. Out of the 5 we have in total, sight & sound are considered the major 2 senses of the body. These stimulated together, are how we as humans perceive the world, and relate to life changing experiences in the present, and reflect on our past. This could be in both forms either positive or negative, but observed in a positive way, they can be remembered for a lifetime.

When relating to a stage with the primary senses, you must have light to not only see the performers, but setting the mood with the audio. There are tons of different variations of effects to be added on stage, and countless equipment available on the market to achieve the desired look. Either way, lighting (the visual), is just as important as sound.

Accent lighting for any style performance

If you’re looking to accent a tranquil mood with say an acoustic performance, then colored static lighting, or wall up lighting would be the most desirable. Maybe the music is more energetic, and requires lighting which will pan over audience members, or strobe with several other moving lights to emphasize dynamic harmonies.  Whatever look is decided on, it should highlight the tempo, feeling, and overall changes in the music. It must match the energy produced by the musicians, and add character to the melody, without stealing the show.

Be sure and look at our website for helpful hints on how to light up your next performance, and learn how to please your crowds 2 primary senses. Once you achieve that, they will not only remember the amazing time they had, but want to relay their amazing experience with friends and people they meet.We offer FREE QUOTES for any type of performance!

  1. Proper lighting enhances any event. The stage, dance floor and even the table settings all stimulate the mood and the better the accents the better the memories.
