This is key for starting anything new, whether a business, relationship, job, classes, sports, or even….. WordPress. If you can’t believe in yourself, you can’t expect anyone else to either. Just like working out at the gym, the strength comes from your core, and once you get that center built up you can do anything you focus your mind and goals on.
My personal favorite events are live concerts, and they’ve been a passion of mine since the early age of 13, when I saw Van Halen play the Omni in Atlanta. Over the years, I thirsted for new music, and eventually discovered bands on the local level. After attending 2 plus decades of all kinds of live shows, I began feeling the urge to want to bring the big show feel to the local level performances, and started sharing some custom props I designed and built single-handed. I honestly had no idea what I was doing, but truly believed in it, and had no reservations in approaching local bands with my creations. When they saw how enthusiastic and confident I was, it seemed to rub off and give them the same feeling in which they executed on stage.
When my company originated, my dream was to enhance the connection between spectators and their live experience. Eventually this idea spawned into SHOCK & AWE Productions, a full service Lighting, Sound & Photography company that installs, sets-up, and consults on anything to do with special events and live performances. One idea initially came to one person, who had faith in himself and his dreams, and turned it into a reality.
You may not be able to envision the outcome of a situation, but just know that nothing will happen if you don’t first believe in yourself!

Great post, Keith. Very inspiring and even though we have very different professions, when it comes to motivating and inspiring others, we share the same message.
Far too often, people will say they wish they could do this or that, but never actually “do” anything about it. Deep down, they don’t believe in themselves. It’s the fear of failure or being rejected.
Yes, life is hard and it’s going to throw some punches your way and try to knock you down, but if you believe in yourself, you’ll pull yourself up, and when you do, others will start to believe in you as well. And when others believe in you, they will rally around you.
To achieve victory and believe in yourself takes courage, integrity and faith.
Good for you Keith for believing in yourself and following your passion and creating a successful business.
